Pioneering Sustainable Materials: The PALF Revolution

In 2023, UKL established its Sustainable Materials Department, focusing on advancing Taiwan’s local, environmentally sustainable recycled materials. A key innovation is the development of pineapple leaves fiber (PALF), derived from indigenous pineapple leaves. This initiative addresses a gap in Taiwan’s textile industry by transforming agricultural waste into valuable, eco-friendly fibers.

PALF is produced using recyclable, zero-carbon emission pineapple leaves, supporting the creation of sustainable yarns and fabrics. UKL has set up Taiwan’s leading trial production line for sustainable textiles, emphasizing the recycling and reuse of waste to drive the industry toward greater environmental responsibility.

By championing waste recycling and the use of indigenous natural fibers, UKL is helping to shape a more sustainable future for Taiwan’s textile and fashion sectors.
